Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry) accurately measures your employee’s respiratory performance and lung health. Establishing employee lung health history can help identify certain pre-existing conditions and risk factors. When workers are exposed to potentially harmful airborne contaminants, it can lead to long-term damage to your employees’ lungs or worse. In this circumstance, it is important to monitor the employee’s lung function and one of the best ways to do this is to conduct a lung function test at the start of employment and to continue monitoring it throughout the individual’s employment. Spirometry can also help determine if the way you manage airborne hazards in the workplace is effective, and in some cases, it is required by OH&S Regulations.
