Robert Frost-Hinz is a lawyer who provides employers and management with guidance and assistance in relation to a wide variety of labour and employment issues including labour relations and collective agreement interpretation, employment standards, OH&S, policy development, discipline and discharge, along with human rights and accommodations. Medical marijuana is a rapidly changing topic and has great implications for workplaces. Managing medical marijuana in the workplace is complex and requires specialized knowledge of medical cannabis, workplace policy, and case law. Approaching recreational legalization adds another layer of challenges.
The morning of this workshop will provide an overview of the cannabis regulations, workplace case law, and drug testing.
The afternoon will include a deep dive on drug and alcohol policy, including a GAP analysis on participant’s current policy. Participants will be provided a sample drug and alcohol policy and business processes for managing medical and recreational cannabis disclosures.
